It seems almost unbelievable that 8 weeks have passed since we closed the boutique to comply with Govt. guidelines to for all of us to stay at home and protect ourselves from the Coronavirus.
I am happy to say that my family and I have remained well throughout the lockdown and have all kept ourselves busy whilst working from home.
We have all been very grateful for our garden and thank goodness for a little bit of sunshine and blue sky to lift our spirits. The garden and veg patch are looking good and we are looking forward to it producing some tasty eats.
Our yellow Labrador Thula has also loved having her owners at home and although we have up until recently only been able to take her on one walk per day she has enjoyed lots of ball games and playing hide and seek with us.
When will we open up the boutique again?
Although the Govt have now given the green light for phased re opening of the high street from 15th June it seems we will not be able to do so safely due the restrictions with which we have to comply. One of these includes keeping fitting rooms closed and not returning tried on items tried on to the shop floor for 72 hours. It is our hope that we will be able to open in the next phase which is due to take place in July.
Once we re-open it will be part time and we will be contacting all our existing brides to book collections for those who were unable to collect from us before lockdown happened and for those whose weddings have been postponed. We will also be booking up for wedding dress fittings for those brides whose wedding are due to take place in the latter part of this year and early next year. Please get in touch to let us know if your wedding date has changed or if you have any questions about your orders.
We aim be able to start taking new bridal appointments again from mid July onwards (subject to govt. guidelines) when we enter the next phase for retail opening.
For those already on our waiting list we will be in touch with you once we are back open. If you would like to join the waiting list you can book up via our website
Before we can do this safely we have to implement some new measures which we just wanted to let you all know about. These will become our new normal instore and we hope you all understand this is to keep us all safe until such time as we have a vaccine and can all move about freely in public again.
Measures we have to take and the “new normal”
We will be open STRICTLY by prior appointment and each bride will be allowed a maximum of 1 guest.(at the time of writing this has to be someone who they live with) Appointments will be confirmed by phone the day before and we have to keep a record of all guests contact details.
If you have a temperature or have recently been unwell please re-schedule your appointment. If you have had COVID-19 please re arrange your appointment for 4 weeks after your symptoms ended.
All guests coming into the shop will be asked to sanitise their hands on arriving and departing from the shop and we will taking temperatures at the door.
Whilst carrying out appointments and dress fittings we will have to maintain social distancing at all times and both staff and customers will be required to wear face coverings and gloves throughout the appointment. (we will supply these if you do not have your own)
Customers will no longer be able to browse and pick from the dresses. Our consultants will work out with the bride before her visit which styles they will be trying on and this will be limited to a maximum of 6 per bride. This is because dresses have to be quarantined for 72 hours in between appointment. Staff will wear gloves when touching the gowns.
The boutique has to be thoroughly cleaned in between appointments so we will only have a limited amount of appointments available per day.
No guests under 16 allowed in store We will make exceptions for babes in arms (also only by prior arrangement)
We appreciate that some of these measures may be difficult. However in order for us to make our workplace safe and to follow govt guidelines and stay open we must all adhere to these new measures.
We thank you all in advance for your understanding and support and look forward to seeing you all back instore very soon.
